1. Operation Principle
The Thermostatic Wax that has been sealed in shell body induces expansion by a given temperature, and inner rubber seal part drives its handspike to move under expansion pressure to realize a transition from thermal energy into mechanical energy. The Thermostatic Wax brings an upward movement to its handspike, and automatic control of various function are realized by use of upward movement of handspike. The return of handspike is accomplished by negative load in a given returned temperature.

(4)Lag phenomenon is generally 1 ~ 2℃. Friction of each component part and lag of the component part temperature cause a lag phenomenon. Because there is a difference between up and down curve of traveling distance.
(5)Loading force of thermal wax actuator is difference, it depends on its’ shell size.

So i’ve read a lot on forums about ford 5.4 having issues with the p0420 and p0430 codes relating to your catalytic converter failing. your catalytic converters can fail for many reasons, i.e your engine running too rich, contaminates in your exhaust, or they just plainly wear out. In my case I wasn’t getting any other engine codes and knew no prior history of the truck as I had just purchased it, I decided since it’s legal in my part of the woods to cut it out that i would do so and if there was any other problems down the road I would take care of it. The exhaust shop that did it warned me from the start that it would make a annoying rap sound almost like a backfire in the exhaust. He sure was right cause it was annoying as heck, so after researching I decided for about 50 bucks why not try a resonator and see what happens. A resonators purpose is to deaden the sound before the exhaust so I decided what the hell. After installing the resonator I am very happy as the exhaust sounds way better now then it did before.
