1. Operation Principle

The Thermostatic Wax that has been sealed in shell body induces expansion by a given temperature, and inner rubber seal part drives its handspike to move under expansion pressure to realize a transition from thermal energy into mechanical energy. The Thermostatic Wax brings an upward movement to its handspike, and automatic control of various function are realized by use of upward movement of handspike. The return of handspike is accomplished by negative load in a given returned temperature.

  • This video to explain how the valve works on a beam type regulator used on a natural gas or propane engine. These units are used often on emergency generators. I do not sell these regulators but have some to experiment with converting gas engines to run on Natural gas or Propane. This is a model 039-121 regulator it has a manual primer. Pushing the “prime” button allows gas to flow through the unit and thus fill or flood the venturi carb area with propane or natural gas to allow starting. With a pull rope start engine a manual prime often is required. With an electric start engine if the rpms are high enough a manual prime might not be required. There has to be enough vacuum from the venturi in the intake carb area to open up the beam balance on the regulator. There are many diagrams on the web explaining how this type of regulator works and videos showing them in operation.



    The project is to design a control system to regulate the temperature and lighting for a comfortable room for human use. We used a light bulb as a heating source wrapped in aluminium foil powered by 120V through a 12V relay which is powered by a transistor which is powered by the 5V output from the board. The fan used to cool the room is powered by a 12V power supply which is powered by another transistor. The temperature is measured by a 2K thermistor and the LEDs are measured by a 10K photocell. We used the set point temperature as 25.6 degrees Celsius for example purposes.
