  • In this video, I have a 98 chevy pickup with a coolant temp gauge that started to read lower then normal. The problem that a lot of folks run into is that there are two temperature sensors in this engine. This also applies to the same era tahoes and suburbans with the 5.7 liter engine.

    I test the temp gauge itself to rule out the gauge as being the problem. If the gauge itself has an internal problem that won’t let it go past 1/4 of the way up, then replacing the sensor would be a waste of time and money. In a future video I will replace the sensor and we’ll see if it’s fixed.

    Using a SyRen 10 from Dimension Engineering to control a rewired windshield wiper motor. In the video I use a potentiometer to control the speed and direction. The wiper motor is powered through the SyRen from a 12V lead acid battery. The wiper motor is from eBay and is a 87-96 Jeep Wrangler Front Windshield Wiper Motor 56030005. It was purchased new for about $30 with shipping. There is also a general breakdown of the set up. In the video I say SysRen but the actual name is SyRen. I also miss spoke when I say coils I am speaking about the brushes. The motor has 2 brushes for input and 1 for ground.
