Kastle FX85 HP 2017 Ski Review By Simon From Edge & Wax

The FX series is a category of skis that Kastle do very well – hard snow performance with just that element of playfulness that keeps things interesting. It carves a turn supremely and with that extra bit of snap that you would expect from a ski with two sheets of titanal in the construction. The ski has an interesting shape for its width with hook free tip and tail as well as early rise in the tip and tail which is unusual for a straight tailed ski in this category. It gives the ski ability to skid, plane, smear and slash which is great fun as well as a larger sweet spot and smooth transitions.

All in all it gives for a really dynamic ride and certainly one of the more adventurous at this waist width. It is aimed at the advanced to Expert skier, that demands a powerful ski with a relaxed feel so as to not sap the life out of you over the course of a ski day. It will be just as much fun down that last favourite tree line as it was the first time.
